PJD Party Reaffirms Mobilization Behind HM the King for Defense of National Cause

Rabat - The Justice and Development Party (PJD-ruling party) reaffirmed its mobilization behind HM King Mohammed VI in the steps taken in favor of the sovereignty of the Kingdom over its Sahara, while reiterating its steadfast positions on the Palestinian question.  This declaration was made by a press release at the end of an extraordinary meeting of the party held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of its secretary general, Saâd Dine El Otmani, and devoted to recent developments in the national issue.  The Secretariat General, following a presentation given by El Otmani on the first national cause, once again underlined "the importance of the position expressed by the American Presidency in favor of the full sovereignty of Morocco over our southern provinces."  Such a proclamation "is concretely illustrated by the opening of a consulate in the city of Dakhla, a decision which opens up broad prospects for the consolidation of the Moroccan position internationally", it said.  The secretariat general said that it is mobilized in favor of the steps taken by the Sovereign to strengthen Morocco's sovereignty over its Sahara, a priority issue among Moroccans, reiterating the unwavering positions of the Kingdom, all components combined, on the Palestinian cause and the continued support of the Palestinian people to recover their legitimate national rights.

  The body welcomed the content of the message sent by HM the King to the Palestinian President, in which the Sovereign announces the holding of a meeting of the Al Quds Committee and the restructuring of Bait Mal Al-Quds, for further support for the holy city and the resistance of the Quds inhabitants.  In accordance with the statute of the party and following requests by members of the national council, the secretariat general and the office of this body have decided to hold remotely an extraordinary session of the council on Sunday. This meeting will discuss the actions of PJD regarding the latest developments of the first national cause and the Palestinian question, the statement concluded.
