Official Stresses Need to Encourage Self-Employment

Samedi 28 Décembre 2019

Rabat - Minister of Labor and Professional Integration Mohamed Amkraz stressed, on Friday in Rabat, the need to encourage self-employment given the opportunities it offers, calling on the government and the establishments concerned to exert more efforts in promoting this sector. Speaking at the 2nd session of the Board of Directors of the National Agency for Employment Promotion (ANAPEC), for the year 2019, dedicated to the presentation of 2020 action plan, Amkraz affirmed that young Moroccans must break the preconceived idea on self-employment, assuring that it offers more opportunities in terms of social promotion in comparison with salaried employment. Stressing the need to deal with shortcomings related to this field and support young entrepreneurs by providing them with the necessary logistical help, he said that, given that the role of the government is to back up the private sector, an observatory in the form of an independent public body is under way and will be provided with financial resources and competent human resources in charge of normalizing figures related to the field of employment and improving the image of Morocco for international investors. On this occasion, director of ANAPEC Abdelmounaïm Madani gave a presentation on the major projects planned for 2020 and the Agency's action plan for the same year, as well as the 2020 budget.

The ANAPEC budget for 2020 is estimated at 691.5 Mln MAD, divided between management (233.5 Mln MAD), investment (8 Mln MAD), the employment initiative project (445 Mln MAD) and net resources (5 Mln MAD).
