The orchestra brings together 70 prominent musicians from Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia who have performed with renowned international orchestras, said the event organisers, Foundation Tenor Pour la Culture.

The band, led by French-Tunisian conductor Fayçal Karoui, aspires to transmit through performances in Maghreban countries and other parts of the globe the values of sharing and fraternity.

During their inaugural concert, the Orchestra will enchant the audience with masterpieces of classical music including Beethoven's 5th symphony and the 2nd Piano Concerto by Rachmaninov as well as famous Opera sequences such as les Noces de Figaro.

To delight of classical music lovers in Morocco, the orchestra will perform in the cities of Rabat, Casablanca, Tangier and Marrakech on January 7-13.

"This is a good example of Maghreban unity and solidarity in the new year's eve," Fondation Tenor said.
