The regions of Gao, Kidal and Timbuktu are under the control of armed groups and Islamist terrorists, Mujao and Ansar Dine.

In another report Al Akhbar reports that  Salafi armed groups in northern Mali occupied areas around the city Al-Khalil three kilometers from the border with Algeria seizing 49 vehicles, quantities of arms and drugs, said a leader of Mujao to  Alakhbar on Thursday.

"The operation took place on Wednesday. It was jointly conducted by the phalanx of Mujao and ' turbans' a term for dissenting AQIM. It was led by Al-Azaouadi Yoro and Abu Al-Oumama Jazaïri, "said the source.

In addition, another leader of the Mujao, phalanx, "Salah Dine" headed by Sultan Ould Badi, said that it had decided not to participate in this operation. For him, "there's aspects of it that are not clear in this operation" whose targets were "ordinary people who are not combatants, or traffickers."

It should be noted that this is the first time that a component of the Salafist movement Mujao rejected the decisions taken by the movement.
