Morocco urges interactive approach with UNWGAD
During a debate with the UNWGAD after the submission of its report to the Council, the inter-ministerial delegate for human rights Mahjoub El Hiba underlined Morocco's resolve to keep the cooperation dynamic with human rights bodies and the need to turn it into a good practice.

The UNWGAD visited last December several Moroccan prisons and met with many officials from national institutions and civil society.

The Kingdom of Morocco has always had a constructive and positive interaction with UN special procedures, said El Hiba, noting that nine working groups and UN rapporteurs visited the Kingdom since 2000 and two other visits are scheduled for 2015. He also welcomed the frank, open and constructive dialogue with the UNWGAD which noticed the government's efforts to strengthen the culture of human rights and protect the rights of all citizens wherever they are and those of immigrants, refugees and asylum seekers.
