Morocco to host on Nov. 28-29 Conference on Geneva Declaration on Armed Violence and Development
Rabat - Rabat will host, on Nov. 28-29, the regional conference for North Africa and Middle East (MENA) on the Geneva Declaration on Armed Violence and Development under the theme "Putting an end to armed violence for peace and development".

The conference, organized by Morocco in cooperation with the Swiss government, the UNDP and the Geneva Declaration secretariat, is aimed at thinking over the theme of reducing armed violence and development and discuss means to spur regional dynamic, said a statement by the foreign affairs ministry.

The Rabat conference will be attended by MENA representatives, Sahel countries representatives, as observers, and representatives of member states of the Geneva Declaration steering committee, of international organizations, and of civil society as well as academics.

The event will be opened by ambassador Nasser Bourita, secretary general of the foreign affairs ministry and ambassador Claude Wild, head of Human Security Division at the Swiss foreign affairs department.
