Morocco strongly denounces coup attempt against Burkina Faso's political transition institutions

Rabat - Morocco "strongly denounces the coup attempt against the political transition institutions in Burkina Faso", says a release of the ministry of foreign affairs and cooperation.

The Kingdom also called "authors of this act to end it and allow the return to the normal operation of institutions" and urged "all stakeholders in Burkina Faso to favor the path of reason and dialog in order to bring about the success of the transition process by holding democratic, transparent and inclusive elections".

"The Kingdom of Morocco supports and backs efforts by ECOWAS (Economic Community of West African States) to help Burkina Faso recover peace and stability", the release added.
