Morocco has adopted an "a brand new immigration policy to understand the issue in a holistic and humanistic approach," noted Mr. Suhail.

The Minister took part in a roundtable on the mobility of labor at the regional and international levels and its effects on development.

This event is part of the high-level dialogue on "International Migration and Development" held at the United Nations (October 3-4).

This new policy, he said, is part of the "implementation of the 2011 constitution which guarantees the principle of non-discrimination, the right to asylum, and the equality of rights between nationals and foreigners."

"As part of this humane, comprehensive and responsible policy, an action plan has been established to address urgent measures granting an absolute priority to refugees and asylum seekers," said the minister.

This action plan, he explained, is meant to "ensure that the people in this category and their families have access to basic social services, housing, health care, training and integration in the labor market. It also aims to ensure the education of children of refugees and asylum seekers. "
