Morocco resolved to contribute to Africa's development through triangular cooperation Morocco/Africa/USA, Mezouar

Abu Dhabi - Morocco, which has an important geostrategic position, is resolved to contribute to the development of Africa within the framework of a triangular cooperation with the United States, said Moroccan minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Salaheddine Mezouar.

Mezouar highlighted, in an interview with TV channel Sky News Arabia on the sidelines of the USA-Africa Leaders Summit in Washington, the historical, close and long-standing bonds uniting the Kingdom and the African countries, stressing the privileged relationships between Morocco and the USA, which can serve as a foundation to set up win-win partnerships with Africa.

Morocco was the first country to recognise the independence of the United States back in 1777, recalled the minister, underlining the friendly aspect and mutual respect that characterise relations between the two countries.

Morocco, Mezouar added, urges a participatory approach in favour of the Africa's development within the framework of an efficient and fruitful south-south cooperation meant to strengthen peace and stability in the African continent.
