Morocco reaffirms at UN 'firm commitment' to continuing cooperation and solidarity programs with African countries
New York (UN) - Morocco reaffirmed, Tuesday before the UNGA, its firm commitment to continuing cooperation and solidarity programs with African countries on the basis of win-win partnerships, urging the international community to pay special attention to Africa, a very vulnerable region.

The Kingdom reaffirms its firm commitment to continuing cooperation and solidarity programs with brotherly African countries as part of south-south cooperation, on the basis of win-win partnerships, said Morocco's ambassador to the UN Omar Hilale.

The issue of development should be at the center of concerns, accompanied by urgent measures to reinforce economic and social stability, in order to address the global challenges facing us today, said the ambassador who was speaking at a UNGA session on the report by the UNSG about the Organization's activities.

Africa is the most vulnerable region and most stricken continent by natural disasters, poverty, starvation, diseases mainly AIDS and Ebola, armed conflicts and terrorism, said Hilale, calling on the UN to pay special attention to difficulties faced by developing countries, notably in Africa, which require a more involved action by all partners to build a world where sustainable peace and shared prosperity prevail.
