The meeting reviewed the excellent ties existing between Morocco and the US and outcome of the meeting held last November between HM King Mohammed VI and US President Barack Obama who confirmed their resolve to reinforce the longstanding friendship, fruitful partnership and strategic alliance binding the two countries for over two centuries, the Moroccan official told the media. Discussions also brought about the security situation in the Sahel-Sahara region and underscored Morocco's will to fight extremism.

Draiss also stressed that Morocco is convinced that consolidation of peace in Africa is impossible if the creation of non-viable political micro-entities is encouraged, noting that Morocco has put forward an autonomy plan to resolve the artificial Sahara problem.

The meeting was also an opportunity to present Morocco's deep reforms to build a modern social model, based on the respect of human rights, the improvement of socio-economic indicators and openness onto the regional and international environment, he added.

Established in 1971, the Congressional Black Caucus has been endeavoring to empower America's people of color and to address their legislative concerns.
