In a report published in Paris, the forum notes that economic growth remained sustained and economy has become less dependent on weather, observing that "economic crisis has become a remote memory".

"At the same time, investment rate remained constantly high and consumption rose", says the report which adds that at the political level "free elections were held and promises to fight corruption and achieve inclusive growth have been made".

"Although these factors are reasons for optimism, maintaining such high levels of public investments and domestic consumption has deepened the budget deficit."

Both trade and budget deficits have widened over the last years, the report goes on recommending to the government to identify more structural reforms, re-assess its growth and macroeconomic strategies and encourage capital-holders to invest in sectors that would create jobs and wealth.

The report also argues that the youth should be enabled to reap the fruits of a strategy focusing on innovation.
