The minister, who was presenting Morocco's initial report under the international convention of migrant workers, highlighted the Kingdom's efforts to reconcile immigrants' rights with the fight against illegal immigration and human trafficking.

The protection of immigrants' rights, regardless of their situation and nationality, is at the center of the national strategy for the fight against human trafficking carried out since 2007, said Souhail before the Committee on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of their Families.

The said migratory approach includes all aspects of this phenomenon notably issues related to asylum and human trafficking, he said.

The national council for human rights has just submitted to HM the King a thematic report on the situation of immigrants and refugees in Morocco in the light of large-scale reforms seeking to promote a new governance concerning migratory influx, he added.
