This unacceptable act which, along with other numerous incidents that marred, in the last few months, Moroccan-French relations, may further complicate the process of normalization of bilateral relations. On the same day, Morocco launched, in the person of its Ambassador in Paris, Chakib Benmoussa, a process within the French ministry of foreign affairs to denounce this incident, which is a particularly serious act, due to its provocative and insulting nature vis-à-vis a Moroccan senior official hospitalized in a French military hospital.

Benmoussa raised questions related to the leniency enjoyed by certain people known for their history, and which can have a negative impact on Moroccan-French relations. The French authorities responded by expressing their sincere sentiments vis-à-vis what happened, and announced that an inquiry will be conducted by the ministry of defense. The Kingdom of Morocco wishes to reiterate its commitment to the quality and deep historical relations with the French Republic, which take into account the values ??of mutual respect and dignity, and cannot, under any circumstances, accept such actions that are incompatible with the spirit friendship and appreciation that marks bilateral relations.
