The call was made by Minister for Solidarity, Women, Family and Social Development who was speaking at a conference on the post-2015 MDGs held on the occasion of the presentation of the national report on the 2015 MDGs.

"Persons with disabilities should be included in the post-2015 MDGs as the current 2015 goals did not address the needs of this social category," she said.

The conference was an occasion to highlight Morocco's MDGs achievements notably in the fields of education, health and the fight against illiteracy despite a regional context marked by political, economic and social unrest.

"The improvement of Morocco's social indicators is largely ascribed to the political and economic stability enjoyed in Morocco," explained the Minister.

She called for a more concerted and comprehensive approach between the different players in the social arena with a view to reducing social disparities and ensuring social cohesion.
