"US exports (to Morocco) has increased by more than 350% and Moroccan exports to the US more than doubled", US Vice President told Moroccan daily L'Economiste" on Wednesday.

"The Morocco-US free trade agreement, one of the twenty agreements we have signed globally, is the cornerstone of our trade relations", Biden added.

"We consider Morocco as an important economic partner, a gateway to Africa, a leading producer of major agricultural products with a talented workforce, working in partnership with big and small enterprises", pointed out the US Vice President, noting that the Kingdom is a "leader" in the Middle East region in the field of green energy.

The United States invested in Morocco's success not only because it is an old friend, being the first country to recognize the USA, but also because it is trying to emerge as a model of political reform and moderation in an era of upheaval in the Middle East, he went on to say.

Joe Biden arrived Wednesday in Marrakech to take part in the fifth annual Global Entrepreneurship Summit (Nov. 19-21).

He is leading a very important US delegation to this global forum held under the High Patronage of HM King Mohammed VI.
