en.lemag : The exportions of citrus have had a turbulent season and according to the Association of Moroccan Citrus Producers ASPAM, this is the worst season of the past 30 years.

Between  2011-2012  the exportations  of citrus  were  485,000. tons  but this year they are only 383,000 tons .
This decrease represents 21% and the  means  factors are  the lower production, contracts with foreign countries according to the Ministry of Agriculture.
 
local competition  and  the increasing demand for fresh fruits and vegetables  are also some of the factors and this  combined with the high temperatures and drought in May and July 2012  which affected fruit development in orchards.
 
 Several  regions   are  impacted  but the most affected areas are  Massa-Draa (-50%), le Gharb (-20% to -25%) and Tadla (-20%) .
 
Despite  this crisis and  the lower production,  some fruits  such as the oranges  are still accessible  in the local market.
 
The kilo was between 1.80 and 2.20 DH per , and the selling price to the consumer  between 7.50 and 9 DH per kilo.
