Morocco, Mali discuss ways to boost cooperation in tourism

Bamako - Morocco and Mali discussed on Friday ways to boost cooperation in the field of tourism in an exploratory meeting in Bamako in the presence of Minister of Tourism, Lahcen Haddad, Malian Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts, Berthe Aissata Bengaly, and a number of tourism professionals and businessmen.

The meeting is being held on the sidelines of the official visit of HM King Mohammed VI in Mali, Haddad said in a statement to MAP, stating that the royal visit embodies the fraternal relations binding the Moroccan and Malian people, and the long standing historical, cultural and religious ties between the two brotherly nations.

The Minister noted that the Moroccan-Malian relations are based on mutual respect and interest, in addition to belonging to the same region that is the Sahel and Sahara. For her part, Malian Minister emphasized the common cultural heritage between Morocco and Mali, noting that King Mohammed VI and President Ibrahim Boubacar Keïta work tirelessly to strengthen these ties.
 
She said the meeting aspires to contribute to the efforts to further strengthen these relations, and achieve the goals of economic development for both Morocco and Mali."SE MAP 212113 GMT Feb 2014
