Rabat - Morocco and Jordan are determined to build a partnership on climate change adaptation projects, said Minister-delegate for the environment, Hakima El Haite.

In a statement to the press after a meeting with a Jordanian delegation led by Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture, Radi Taraounah, the minister said the two parties work towards the establishment of a "distinguished partnership" on several climate change adaptation projects, particularly in protected areas, oases, and mountains, as well as on environmental projects that bring added value, protect natural resources, and fight desertification.

The visit of the Jordanian delegation, is part of the implementation of Search Project "social, ecological and agricultural resilience to climate change," which is funded by the European Union and implemented in five Arab countries, namely Morocco, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, and Palestine. The Moroccan component of this project involves the water basin of Oued El Kebir, located upstream of the Martil dam, with the coordination of Abdelmalek Essaadi University of Tangier-Tetouan.
