A joint statement of French and Moroccan Interior ministries said the two ministers, Bernard Cazeneuve and Mohamed Hassad, "praise the arrest, Saturday in Marrakech, of French-Moroccan national Nabil Ibelati, chased by French judicial authorities for his alleged involvement in an armed robbery in Cannes on July 31, 2013, against Kronometry watchmaker, during which hundred luxury watches valued at Euro 1.7 million had been stolen".

"This arrest, which put an end to the run of this criminal, reflects the excellent French-Moroccan police cooperation within the framework of strengthening partnership between the two countries in security", the same source said.

France and Morocco have decided to strengthen their security cooperation mechanisms, particularly in terms of feedback in the case of joint investigations, multiplying meetings between security officials in both countries to better coordinate work between their respective security services to address challenges related to terrorism, organized crime, and maintaining a confident and intense exchange of information and experience, the statement said.
The record seizure of 6 tons of cannabis resin, on July 27 near Marseilles, carried out in perfect coordination between Moroccan and French police, is ''another example of successful partnership", the statement said, adding that "both ministers are therefore convinced that beyond last weekend's arrest, French-Moroccan cooperation will result soon in other positive results".'
