Morocco: Foreign Trade receipts increased by 14 bn dirhams in June

Morocco's trade with foreign countries amounted to more than 280.25 billion dirhams in late June against 265.45 billion dirhams, year on year, an increase of 5.6% (14, 80 billion dirhams), according to the Exchange Office.

This increase is primarily attributable to increased imports up 6% (190.06 billion dirhams against 179.36 billion dirhams), including energy products up to 39.7%, says the Exchange Office, which recently published the preliminary indicators of foreign trade.
 
Merchandise exports rose 4.8% to 90.19 billion dirhams at the end of June against 86.08 billion dirhams, year on year the source said, adding that this increase is due to phosphates (6 , 4%) and its derivatives (1%).
 
Following these indicators, the trade balance worsened by 7.1%, from -93.28 billion dirhams at the end of June 2011 to -99.87 billion dirhams at the end of June, while the coverage of the trade balance reached 47.5% at end-June against 48% a year earlier.
