Morocco Foils Attempted Smuggling of 4 Million Euros
Casablanca - Moroccan authorities at the Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca foiled an attempt to smuggle around 3.9 million euros and 130,000 US dollars and arrested two Moroccan nationals.

The two convicts, who work for Air France and Qatar Airways, were arrested in two separate operations, Moroccan Gendarmerie Royale said, adding that authorities seized, in the first operation, 1,364,610 euros and 120,000 US dollars concealed in a rental car parked in a parking lot outside the airport.

In the second operation, the authorities seized the remaining amount estimated at ê 2,503,500 euros and ê 10,000 concealed in an Air France car, parked in an area at the border point of the Mohammed V International Airport, the gendarmerie Royale pointed out.

Following these two operations, an investigation was launched to shed light on the circumstances of these operations to smuggle the foreign currency into Dubai through Doha, the same source added.
