Morocco, EU Express their Ambition to Promote 'Euro-Moroccan Partnership for Shared Prosperity

Brussels - Morocco and the European Union (EU) expressed, on Wednesday in Brussels, their ambition to promote the "Euro-Moroccan Partnership for shared prosperity" as an innovative framework for a strategic and privileged relationship in the service of their mutual interests.

In a joint statement after a meeting between Josep Borrell, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, vice-president of the European Commission and Nasser Bourita, minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, both parties welcomed the progress made since the 14th Association Council meeting in June 2019, and agreed to continue implementing this partnership, strengthen its effectiveness and help forge together the future of their relationship.

The two officials stressed that "the EU-Morocco partnership is more necessary than ever".

"The EU and Morocco should join their efforts to stimulate regional cooperation for the benefit of stability, prosperity and inclusive development and in order to better respond to regional and global challenges," according to the joint statement.
