Beijing - Morocco and China cooperate closely in the fight against the pandemic of the new Coronavirus (Covid-19), said Morocco's ambassador to China Aziz Mekouar. Speaking during a meeting broadcast on Tuesday on television channel "China-Arab TV", Mekouar said that videoconferences were organized between doctors and health professionals in China and their counterparts in Morocco to share Chinese experience in the fight against Covid-19 and get information about measures taken to counter the spread of the viral epidemic.

The Moroccan diplomat also said that discussions are still under way between the two parties concerning the study of the evolution of the epidemic situation. As part of the national mobilization efforts undertaken by the Kingdom to contain the spread of Covid-19 and in application of the High Instructions of HM King Mohammed VI, the Embassy of Morocco in Beijing, in coordination with various competent authorities in Morocco as well as in China, was mobilized for the acquisition of medical equipment and devices from the People's Republic of China, said Mekouar, noting that so far large shipments of medical equipment have been sent to Morocco via four air flights. Since the onset of the epidemic in China, the Moroccan embassy in Beijing has set up a crisis cell for the benefit of members of the Moroccan community established in China, said Mekouar, adding that a series of measures was taken to accelerate the process of evacuation, towards the Kingdom, of Moroccans who lived in Wuhan and in the province of Hubei, in application of the High Royal instructions.
