Moroccans Stranded Abroad: New Group of 633 People Arrives in the Kingdom through Marrakech-Menara Airport

Marrakech - The repatriation operation of Moroccans stranded abroad following the closure of borders due to the Covid-19 pandemic continued on Saturday at the Marrakech-Menara International Airport, with the arrival of a new group of 633 people. Four Royal Air Maroc (RAM) planes, each carrying between 157 and 159 passengers, landed at the Marrakech International Airport, including three planes from France (3 flights, 476 citizens) and one from Germany (157 people).

These new arrivals bring to 1,550 the number of citizens who have returned to the Kingdom through Marrakech-Menara Airport in the past 24 hours on board a total of 10 flights from Great Britain, France, the Netherlands, Côte d'Ivoire, Senegal and Germany. All the necessary measures have been taken in close coordination with all the concerned departments to ensure the smooth conduct of this operation, while observing the recommended precautionary measures and the health protocol in force, including wearing masks and social distancing. The beneficiaries were taken to several hotels in the city, where they will have COVID-19 tests before being quarantined in accordance with the health protocol in force. Several repatriated citizens expressed on this occasion their deep gratitude to His Majesty King Mohammed VI for this initiative, while commending the strong mobilization of the various concerned departments.
