The field hospital, located near the Modibo Keita Stadium in the heart of the Malian capital, started providing medical care to hundreds of people - men and women young and old.

"Within hours, we were in front of a very large crowd," said head doctor of the hospital, Colonel Baite Abdelouahed, noting that the increasing number of patients made the staff of the hospital do more to improve the care provided.

Colonel Baite said more patients are expected in the coming days, adding that the hospital will accommodate up to 1,200 people per day.

The medical-surgical hospital is supervised by a staff of 106 people, including specialized doctors, nurses and a coaching and support team.SE
