A study entitled "the historical structure of Moroccan-African bilateral relations" issued recently by the Doha-based center, said that Morocco's interest in the African continent was shown since the independence of the Kingdom in 1956.

The study conducted by Moroccan academic Khalid Chegraoui, a researcher in the African Studies Center in Rabat, revealed that since it left the organization of African Union in 1984, Morocco has adopted a policy based on the development of bilateral and multilateral ties through economic and cultural cooperation, notably with French-speaking countries in western and central Africa and regional organizations.

The researcher said that the Kingdom signed over 478 cooperation agreements with the majority of African countries.
