Rome - Moroccan athlete Janat Hanane came second in the 20th edition of the Rome Marathon on Sunday, clocking 2h38'08'' before Italian Emma Quaglia (2h43'24''). This 20th edition was dominated by Ethiopian runners with Shume Hailu Legese winning the men's event and Ayelu Lemma Geda the women's race. According to organizers, some 8237 Italian runners and 10,824 foreign athletes participated in the marathon.
