Moroccan Fine Art launches at The Coningsby Gallery, London 7-12 May 2012

A new initiative to promote Moroccan contemporary art in the key London market with its golbal connections has been born with the creation by the UK based Moroccan Fine Art of its website which is an online gallery for viewing but not for sale.

Nadia Echiguer the director of Moroccan Fine Art a UK based gallery specialising in Moroccan contemparary Art which is capitalising on the growing popularity of Moroccan Contemporary Art which has a strong following in Europe and the USA.

It is still relatively unknown in the UK.This has been due to the language barrier and a largely European focus
especially France. The Contemporary Art scene in Morocco is booming with two Fine Art schools in Tetouan and Casablanca and galleries in many cities in Morocco. hough the largest number of galleries is in Casablanca, there are also many others in cities such as Rabat, Tangier,Marrakech and Essaouira. Many artists from around the world come to paint in Morocco and are very much part of the art scene. There is a real fusion of genres and ideas.  

Nadia Echeiguer  also aims to promote the work of  and unknown Moroccan artists by holding exhibitions three or four times a year to poularise and promote the work ofyoung contemporary Moroccan artists.

For the upcoming launch of Moroccan Fine Art, the UK’s first dedicated gallery to Moroccan artists, the focus of the first  exhibition “An Urban Twist” from Morocco will be on The works of Larbi Cherkaoui, Kim Bennani, Said Yaghfouri, Zineb Echiguer and Said Qodaid are on display and available for sale.
