"We need the Algerians to get out of their attitude of withdrawal and expectation, they must wake up"  he said.

Tthe  foreign minister of Niger, Mohamed Bazoum was speaking to the French radio station RFI during a visit to France.

The Minister of  foreign Affairs of  Niger, in stress mode, is in  France to spread the growing concerns of his very fragile country, itself besetby problems with its own Tuareg  opulation which have worsened since the fall of Muammar Gaddafi and the return home of columns of fighters armed to the teeth having helped themselves to the arsenals of the  former Libyan dictator.

Mohamed Bazoum advocates a military operation in northern Mali to dislodge the MNLA and the Ansar Dine movement with close links to AQIM. He calls on Algeria on the issue, accusing it of committing a serious error by its withdrawal from the case and "its mistakes in communication on the issue. "

"We were in the committee of unified staff operations (CRIC), which is designed to cope with such situations. But since what happened in Mali, the CRIC was put into hibernation by Algeria "deplores Bazoum who says that only an international alliance could permanently solve the problem of Mali.

Mohamed Bazoum has ensured that the Algerians will not have to be afraid of such an alliance as they can, he says, take part in its operations.
