Rabat - The ministry in charge of Moroccans living abroad and migration affairs said Friday that it has taken all necessary steps to transfer the remains of a Moroccan man and his wife who died on May 23 in an illegal firework stash blast in the Spanish province of Pontevedra, in coordination with the Kingdom’s Consulate General in Bilbao.

The transfer of the remains was decided following the identification of the two victims, Abdelkhalaq El Bouabi and his wife Zahra Bouadel, conducted by the relevant services and the administrative and judicial procedures undertaken by the Spanish authorities, the ministry added in a statement.

To this end, two ambulances have been mobilized for the transfer of the remains from Casablanca’s Mohammed V International Airport to the city of Khouribga, where the victims will be laid to rest, the source pointed out.

The funerals will be held on Saturday in the presence of a delegation of the ministry in charge of Moroccans living abroad and migration affairs.
