Minister Delegate for National Defense Administration Holds Talks in Rabat with French Armed Forces Minister

Rabat - Pursuant to the Royal instructions, Minister Delegate for National Defense Administration, Abdeltif Loudyi, received, Thursday in Rabat, French Minister of Armed Forces, Florence Parly, who is on a working visit to the kingdom. During the meeting, which was attended by the French ambassador to Morocco as well as officials from the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, the two ministers expressed their satisfaction with the strength and sustainability of the privileged links and strategic partnership between France and Morocco, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and His Excellency the President of the French Republic, said a press release from the National Defense Administration.

They also highlighted their willingness to further develop these longstanding relations in the same spirit of friendship, mutual understanding and shared trust, the source pointed out, adding that the two sides exchanged their points of view on the regional security situation, particularly in the Mediterranean and the Sahel-Saharan regions. Loudyi highlighted, in this regard, the unwavering commitment and the multidimensional strategy led by the Kingdom, under the leadership of HM the King, in the fight against terrorism and in the humanist management of the migration crisis.

For her part, Ms. Parly praised the leadership of His Majesty the King and the leading role played by the Kingdom in promoting regional stability, while commending the efforts made by Morocco as a major player in South-South cooperation, particularly towards African countries. In the area of defense, the two officials reviewed the various aspects of bilateral cooperation.

This cooperation, which is regular, structured and diversified, focuses in particular on the training of executives, the exchange of expertise and the organization of joint exercises and training, the source pointed out. This cooperation is also marked by the regular convening of the mixed military commission and by frequent exchanges of visits by senior officials.

The two officials, who commended bilateral defense cooperation, underlined their willingness to further strengthen and deepen bilateral cooperation, in particular with regard to the modernization of defense systems, capacity building and interoperability, the source said.
