Lemag: "In Mimouni’s native land with its ocher, red, yellow and other shades is his main capital for creation Wherever he goes and whatever he paints this is the fundamental relationship of all his art. " Tahar Ben Jelloun writes about the creative work of the painter El Houssaine Mimouni.
Mimouni El Houssaine presents
After a great success at the 4th Calligraphy Bienalle in Sharjah UAE, in 2012 alongside Lalla Essaydi and great masters of calligraphy and a current exhibition at the prestigious Majlis Gallery in Dubai, Mimouni returns to his native Morocco with the exhibition "Scales of Time",  to be held from 27 April to 18 May 2013 at the Tindouf Gallery in Marrakech.

Mimouni’s  work is at the same time has  an elegant and intuitive smooth  spontaneity. It is this fusion of emotions, memory, and intuition that gives his work this passionate and aesthetic force ....

"Childhood and tender or violent moments  are the crucible of memories never extinguished, perhaps reinvented, dazzled and dancing, everything is in the hand and memory of  Mimouni  to restore."  As Tahar Ben Jelloun describes this exhibition "The Scales of Time".

Born in Taroudant but living 30 years in Montpellier, Mimouni constantly travels in space and time between these two locations. His work is loaded with stories, symbols and memories of childhood. His paintings are a kind of archaeological research, a universe of forms, signs and traces where primitive drawings such as ladders and boats are responsible for a multitude of meanings. The scales are a relay, a place of passage between heaven and earth, and the fagots or boats a symbol of nostalgic trips South-North, which are often identified in his works.
