Mediation : Rabat CERSS and Toledo peace center sign MoU
Rabat - The center for studies and research in social studies (CERSS) and Toledo international peace center (CIT-pax) signed, on Monday in Rabat, a memorandum of understanding (MoU).

The agreement was signed by CERSS director Abdallah Saaf and director general of CIT-pax Emilio Cassinello on the sidelines of the second international seminar on the promotion of mediation in the Mediterranean themed "concrete actions for an optimal synergy in mediation".
In a statement to MAP, Saaf said that both centers were chosen by officials of the Moroccan-Spanish initiative on the promotion of mediation in the Mediterranean which was launched in September 2012 to set an academic and research platform on this Mediterranean project.
He added that the agreement aims to boost the role of mediation through studies, research and joint meetings, and establish documentary mechanisms to make progress in this area.
Cassinello stressed that the signing of this agreement represents a concrete and practical step towards the achievement of the seminar's main idea, which is to transform mediation into one of the first mechanisms to use to prevent or resolve conflicts in the Mediterranean region. He said that one of the first measures to be taken under this cooperation agreement is the establishment of a list of all institutions with a mediation capacity in the Mediterranean region nationally, regionally and internationally.
