Marrakech: Two attacks with knives on foreigners in one day

On Friday evening, the Spanish artist Béatrice Rodriguez, was assaulted in Marrakech, by two men on a motorcycle, that making use of a large knife to stab her several times, before grabbing her handbag and fleeing.

Wounded in several parts of her body, the Spanish artist was diligently transported in a private clinic in the city to be rescued.

 The same day, at rue Tarik Ibn Ziad Area Gueliz, a French tourist who was accompanied by her husband, was attacked by thieves, they took from her by force, her purse before fleeing and leaving her terrified to the point that she lost consciousness for a few moments.

Sources on-site said that the city police for unexplained reasons initiated a decline in frequency of motorcycle patrols by  motorcycle units, which contributed significantly to the increase in the number of cases of armed robbery at several points in the city including the principle tourism  zones which are nomally well secured.
