Major tourism projects under way in Algiers to be ready in late 2013 or early 2014

Minister of Tourism and Craft Industry Mohamed Benmeradi said on Tuesday that the major tourist projects under way in Algiers, and which are expected to create more than 8,000 jobs and ensure over 2,400 beds, would be delivered in late 2013 and early 2014.

In a statement to the press at the end of the inspection carried out in several hotel facilities underway resorts and sites of "high standing" at Algiers, the tourism minister expressed "satisfaction "about the state of progress of the projects, APS reported.

He visited .to the major resorts in progress by private investors at Bab Ezzouar which has 1,200 beds and will provide for 4,000 jobs. it is being developed by the Trust Resort Group, and  the Marriott Hotel  which has 223 luxury rooms with several luxury tourist facilities including hotels, a  hypo market shopping centre and water park,a business centre with offices, restaurants,  and leisure facilities including a marina. It   is being developed by  Abdelouhab  Rahim's Dahli Resort Group.

The Minister visited several hotels in Algiers including the Boubaya-Omar in the town of Sidi M'hamed whose completion rate reached 90%. The budget allocated for this hotel includes. 80 beds and 25 new job positions amounted to 140 million dinars.
 
He inspected the hotel Dar al-Ikram"with a capacity of 34 beds and providing 16 job positions, as well as the hotel OASIS which offers 324 beds and 486 jobs. Benmeradi also went to Hussein Dey where he inspected other hotels in the same building of accommodation facilities.
