Libyan PM’s list of Ministers rejected
As a many as 50 members walked out of Congress in protest. Most were members of Mahmoud Jibril’s National Forces Alliance (NFA) which was not included in the new cabinet. Not all of the NFA, however, walked out, The Libya Herald reported.

Mustafa Abushagur said he had withdrawn his list but some officials said it had been rejected by the Congress.
Abdelali al-Dersi, who represents the eastern town of al-Bayda in the assembly, was quoted by AFP news agency as saying that the list had been rejected after a vote.

"We voted to reject the government proposed by Abu Shagur and to grant him until Sunday to present a new line-up," he said.

The deadline for Mr Abushagur to represent his cabinet list is Sunday 7 October.

The National Congress was invaded by 200 militiamen from Zawia protesting that no one form their town had been selected as a minister. This was another embarrasing security lapse as the National Congress building  was being guarded by the army. The meeting was postponed.

Opinion in the Congress was divided on whether a compromise on the list was possible. Some Congress members expressed the view that the prime Minister had been politically naive and out of touch in his approach whilst others insisted that he had consukted members about the ministerial list. However the crisis does appear
to have damaged his credibility according to the Libya Herald.

A visit by French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius has been postponed becaus of the delay in forming a government.
