Libyan National Congress dismisses Abushagur as PM
125 Congress members voted after a vote of no confidence to dismiss Abushagur, whilst 44 voted to keep him and 16 abstained. 186 of the 200 members were in attendance for the vote.Just a few hours earlier, the prime minister-elect submitted an emergency cabinet for Congressional approval and delivered an impassioned speech calling for unity at a time of national crisis, The Libya Herald reported

He submitted just ten names for government posts, down from the 28 proposed in his initial submission on Wednesday, not including himself. The congress decided to move a vote of no confidence rather than discuss mr Abushagur's final list of ministers The National Peoples Congress will meet tomorrow to decide on the election of a new prime minister.

This leaves a political vacuum at a difficult time for internal security  with  ongoing  attempts at  disarmament of militias, the pro Gaddafi townof Bani Walid surrounded by army forces, the possibility of an American strike on
those  deemed responsible for the Benghazi  US consulate attack which killed the ambassador and three diplomatic staff and a very uncertain situation in the south of the country and its border with the Sahel.
