Laenser: the Rabat meeting devoted to the willingness for dialogue and coordination of the AMU

Rabat - The Interior Minister, Mohand Laenser, said on Sunday in Rabat, that the meeting of the Council of Ministers within the AMU was devoted to willingness for dialogue and coordination of member countries, especially in the area of security and the fight against terrorism.

At a press conference held after the meeting of the Council Laenser noted that this meeting was very important and helped to enhance contact and facilitate communication between the ministers, as it was an opportunity to discuss topics of concern to the public in the region, including the security issues that have been in the news lately.

 

The Rabat meeting stressed the importance of monitoring the implementation of recommendations and resolutions taken through annual meetings of interior ministers of the five countries, as well as coordination meetings before each participation in meetings whether regional or international, said the minister, who announced the creation of a commission of experts to hold regular quarterly meetings and whenever necessary to ensure this monitoring.

 

 

According to the final communiqué of the meeting, Council members welcomed the Moroccan proposal to hold the first meeting of this committee in Rabat before the end of June. Working groups will be formed in the same commission to examine inter maghrebian coordination in the areas of the fight against terrorism, organized crime, illegal immigration, human trafficking, drugs and psychotropic substances, as well as e-crime and civil protection.

 

 

The meeting of interior ministers of the AMU opened on Sunday morning in the presence of Ministers of the interior; Morocco , Mohand Laenser, Libya, Ashur Shwail, Tunisian Lotfi Ben Jeddou Algerian Dahou Ould Kablia Mauritania, Mohamed Ould Boilil, and the Secretary General of the AMU, Habib Ben Yahia.
