Kenitra Commune open day 25 February 2013

The Urban Commune of Kenitra, in partnership with the Youth Council of the city, is organising on Monday, February 25, 2013 a communal open house. The event is organized with the support of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) under the Local Governance Programme which aims to promote dialogue between the municipality and its youth.

Young people of the city will meet with elected officials and municipal managers to learn about the various municipal services as well as the role of the Commune vis-à-vis the citizens and the promotion of youth. This day will also highlight the role of the Youth Council of Kenitra as a facilitator of dialogue between young people and their Commune.

 

Program: stands and communal services of the Youth Council, animations, exhibitions and documentary films on the city of Kenitra and youth. The day will end with a plenary session on youth participation in community life.

 The Local Governance Program (PGL), USAID is conducted in partnership with the Directorate General of Local Authorities of the Ministry of Interior. It has two components: 1) it strengthens the capacity of local communities so that they can improve their services to citizens, and 2) it increases the participation of citizens in the management of local affairs, particularly women and youth, to establish a constructive dialogue between the public and its Commune.
