Japan Grants 2.3 Million Dirhams to Fund Rural Projects in Morocco

Rabat - The Japanese government has granted 2.3 million dirhams (212,308 Euros) to Moroccan NGOs to fund development projects in rural areas in Morocco, Japanese embassy said on Friday.

The grant agreement, which was signed in Rabat by Japan's Ambassador to Morocco, Tsuneo Kurokawa, and representatives of three beneficiary NGOs, is part of the Japanese aid programme to local projects (APL).

The grant will fund projects ranging from upgrading road infrastructure to improving drinking water supply for rural communities.

As part of APL, Japan has funded 351 projects in Morocco worth over 163 million dirhams since 1989, the same source noted.
