IMF commends Morocco's indexation decision of energy products on world's market
Washington - The international monetary fund (IMF) commended the decision by Morocco to index the prices of the majority of energy products on the world's market, a "welcomed measure" in the prospect of reforming the subsidy fund.

In a report issued in Washington following a visit by a IMF mission in Morocco as part of the 6.2 bn dollar-Precautionary and Liquidity Line, the fund says that the Moroccan authorities reacted in an appropriate manner to the 2012 overspending by implementing actions that foster the tax environment and reduce the impact of world market's fluctuations on the state budget.
The report also noted an improvement of Morocco's short term economic prospects thanks to a good agricultural year that would boost growth beyond the forecast 5% in 2013, adding that the government is committed to stabilizing tax deficit at 5.5% of GDP in the same year.
