House of Representatives Unanimously Adopts Draft Organic Law on Regions

Rabat - The House of Representatives on Friday adopted unanimously the draft organic law on regions.

The draft organic law on regions inaugurates a new stage in decentralization and territorial management in Morocco and is an important step in the process of the institutional reforms initiated in the Kingdom, Interior Minister Mohamed Hassad said during a plenary session following the vote.

In this context, the Minister highlighted the new provisions introduced by this text, notably the specific prerogatives of the region, the prerogatives shared with the State and the powers transferred to the region, the financial arrangements of the region, its financial sources, the nature of its resources and the procedures for administering the social development Fund and the interregional Solidarity Fund.
