Gabon Seeks Cooperation with Morocco in Customs

Rabat - A delegation of the Gabonese customs expressed its interest in learning from the Moroccan experience at the end of a recent visit to the Moroccan Administration of Customs and indirect taxes (ADII).

The Gabonese delegation voiced willingness to foster cooperation with Morocco notably in sharing expertise on the role of the customs administration in boosting Morocco's economic growth, the ADII said in a statement.

The Moroccan model was described as leading in as far as it integrates customs in mobilising financial resources in a context marked by the liberalisation of trade, the same source said.

The Gabonese delegation also expressed to cooperate with Morocco's customs in terms of training, said the statement, noting that the ADII is offering training to participants from some 20 countries.

The Gabonese delegation was led by Director General of Gabon's customs Michel Ondinga Ngouengoue who was accompanied by Gabonese Ambassador to Morocco Abu Razzaq Guy Kambogo.
