GFMD: Morocco's new migration policy hailed in Stockholm

Stockholm - Several delegations taking part in the 7th Global Forum on Migration and Development (GFMD), which is being held in Stockholm, lauded Morocco's new migration policy.

The delegations of Switzerland, France and Turkey, with which Morocco's permanent representative to the UN ambassador Omar Hilale held talks on the sidelines of the GFMD meeting, underlined the importance of the new migration policy adopted by the Kingdom.

With the Turkish delegation, Hilale discussed the good integration by Moroccan immigrants in their host country and recalled many success stories by them. As for the meeting with the Swiss delegation, the Moroccan diplomat tackled issues related to the phenomenon of immigration, cooperation between Morocco and Switzerland and the implementation of the new migration policy initiated by HM King Mohammed VI which is based on respecting human rights and humane treatment of sub-Saharan immigrants.

Concerning the meeting with the French delegation, it touched on several topics linked to immigration, as well as projects undertaken by the two parties in terms of immigration.
