France condemns in "the strongest terms" the attack against its embassy in Libya

Paris - The head of French diplomacy, Laurent Fabius, condemned "with the utmost firmness" the car bombing on Tuesday committed against the Embassy of France in Tripoli, Libya, in which "two French agents were injured ".

"In connection with the Libyan authorities, government departments (French) will make every effort to ensure that all light be shed on the circumstances of this heinous act and its perpetrators are quickly identified," he assured in a statement.

Fabius wished to express to the French officers injured his wishes  for their recovery, solidarity and deep sympathy.

The attack was condemned in Tripoli as a "terrorist act", occured on Tuesday at the Embassy of France in Libya, injuring two French guards one seriously, and causing major damage, according to a Libyan security source.

The explosion damaged the building housing the offices of the Chancery which was heavily damaged as a part of the wall of the enclosure was destroyed, while two cars parked outside the embassy were burned, report media sources.
