Five Moroccans Among Recipients of Sharjah Award for Arab Creativity

Sharjah - Five Moroccan writers are among the winners of the 23rd edition of the Sharjah Award for Arab Creativity. The winners of the prize were announced on Monday and the Moroccan ones are: Mohamed Amine Nouari (poetry), Abdelbar Souldy (short story), Asmae Oubihi (novel), Younes Charki (drama) and Amal Rami (children's literature). Other writers representing Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Algeria and Yemen were also awarded in this edition. The winners of this Prize covering poetry, prose, short story, novel, drama and children's literature will be awarded at a ceremony to be held next April in Rabat. Speaking on this occasion, secretary general of the Sharjah Prize for Arab creativity Mohamed Ibrahim El Kaci said that 480 Moroccans have participated in this competition since its launch, and 37 out of them have been awarded prizes.

The event was attended by writers from Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Iraq, Jordan, Sudan, Yemen, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, the Sultanate of Oman, Mauritania, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, Lebanon and Somalia.
