Fifty young French religious leaders to be trained in Morocco, Union of Mosques in France
Rabat - Fifty young French imams (religious leaders) will be trained annually in Morocco, the Union of Mosques in France (UMF) announced on Friday.

The Union obtained on July 30, 2014, the approval by HM King Mohammed VI to the request of receiving fifty French students yearly for a three-year training in Morocco, said a UMF statement.

The first batch, which includes 20 students from the different French regions, is already in the Kingdom. An additional 28 students will join them in September 2015, said the UMF, while expressing its gratitude to HM the King who took care of such training, a fact that offers an invaluable opportunity to Muslims in France.

Several mosques contacted the UMF to employ French imams which led the Union to enter into a partnership with the Endowments and Islamic Affairs ministry to help these Frenchmen get a theological training at the Mohammed VI Institute for Imams, Murshidin and Murshidat Training, the same source added.
