Mardi 9 Avril 2013

Tunis - "We have no more confidence in the military justice system," stated the families of martyrs and wounded of the revolution of 14 January 2011 who gathered on Tuesday morning outside the headquarters of the governorate of Tunis during the festival of martyrs.
Families of the martyrs of Tunisian revolution:
"Two years after the revolution, the military justice system has failed to uncover the truth and identify those responsible," lamented Samia Mhimdi, sister of the martyr Hichem Mhimdi and member of the National Association for the Defence of Martyrs and Wounded of  the Tunisian revolution in a statement to TAP news agency.

"Today, we demand the creation of a judiciary composed of independent judges and international experts who will examine the issues of the martyrs and wounded of the revolution," she pleaded.

The Association as well as the families of martyrs and wounded of the revolution, she said, demanded that people suspected of involvement in the murder of martyrs be excluded from positions of responsibility, restoring truth and publishing definitive list of martyrs and wounded of the Tunisian revolution.

"We also demand compensation for the families of martyrs and wounded, especially many of whom live in difficult situations such as young Khaled Ben Nejma who got no help," Samia Mhimdi regretted.

She further noted that the organisation of  a sit-in outside the headquarters of 14 governorates across the country, aims to present the authorities with the grievances of the families of martyrs and claim their rights.
