FM to take part in international conference on nuclear security slated in Vienna

 El Otmani will participate in the ministerial session and meet with Yukiya Amano, director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and Lassina Zerbo, executive secretary of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO).

The talks will focus on cooperation ties between the Kingdom and the two bodies in the field of nuclear security.

The Minister will also have a working meeting, on the sidelines of the conference, with his Austrian counterpart Michael Spindelegger, as well as meetings with Heinz Fischer, President of the Republic of Austria and Reinhard Todt, President of the Austrian Federal Council (Senate).

This conference is being convened to review the international community's experience and achievements to date in strengthening nuclear security, to enhance understanding of current approaches to nuclear security worldwide and identify trends, and to provide a global forum for ministers, policymakers and senior officials to formulate views on the future directions and priorities for nuclear security.
